Acoustic Music at Montrose Playhouse kick off our Autumn season with a bang, when we welcome the Massy Ferguson band from Seattle, Washington State, U.S.A., as part of their U.K. Tour.
For more than a dozen years, Massy Ferguson have proudly planted their boots on both sides of the Country- Rock divide, carving out their own brand of amplified Americana. From their base in Seattle, they have become international torchbearers for a sound, which is distinctly American, with a touring history, which spans nine different countries. Their sound has been described as Rock & Roll roots, or bar-band twang, served with raw guitar-driven bang.
The touring band will be Ethan Anderson, on bass and lead vocals, Adam Monda, on guitar and vocals, Fred Slater, on kevboards, with drummer Alfonso Luna. The tour will promote their seventh Album, entitled ” You Can’t Tell Me I’m Not What I User To Be.” This is their cinematic version of rootsy American music, filled with vintage tones, analog production and lush instrumentation.

Singer Songwriter, Alice Faye, from Glasgow, is fast becoming one of Scotland’s most distinctive new voices, crafting songs, which balance cinematic drama with intimate confessional storytelling. Accompanying herself on guitar and keyboards, together with Lewis Doherty, on guitar and backing vocals, she appears at Montrose Playhouse as part of a short Scottish September tour.
Fresh from winning the BBC Introducing Award for 2026, after being voted ” The Sound of Young Scotland ” at the Scottish Album of the Year Awards for 2025, Alice Faye continues to build momentum as she prepares for the release of her debut Album, entitled ” Vaudevillain”.
Blending Sixties Folk, Seventies Pop and classic Country with a theatrical chanson-inspired flair, the music of Alice Faye feels both timeless and vividly modern. Rich piano arrangements, sharp lyrical wit and a striking expressive vocal style sit at the heart of her work.
Admission is £14, payable in cash at the door, or tickets can be purchased beforehand by emailing brucekenneth130@gmail.com.

We are excited to be part of the Double Bill Tour for the Annie Keating Band, from Brooklyn, New York, and for The Dreaming Spires, who have been described by Andrew Marr of the Andrew Marr Show on BBC TV as ” one of the best live bands in the country.”
Annie Keating brings her sublime Alt-Country Americana back on a UK September and October tour. Bob Harris of the BBC frequently championed the music of Annie Keating on his BBC Radio 2 Show and even organised a private House concert, when Annie was here in 2025.
The Annie Keating Band line-up will feature twice-nominated AMAUK Instrumentalist of the Year, Joe Coombs, on electric, acoustic and slide guitars, Scott Warman, on double and electric bass, with Jamie Dawson, on drums.
After being part of the Indie Band, Goldrush, who signed to Virgin Records, brothers, Robin and Joe Bennett, formed The Dreaming Spires in 2012. Robin and Joe have also spent the past decade touring the world as part of Saint Etienne’s live band. The debut Album of The Dreaming Spires was described in The Independent as ” Big Star by way of Gram Parsons and Teenage Fanclub.”
