Montrose Folk Club continues for 2019 the tradition, developed over the past ten years,
of presenting Celtic Connections “almost by your Fireside” to Montrose and Angus
audiences.
Celtic Connections is the world famous winter festival of all kinds of Roots and Acoustic
Music which takes over Glasgow for a two week period at the end of January and the
beginning of February every year.
As a special treat for 2019, Montrose Folk Club are offering Angus audiences the
opportunity to hear not just one, but two, separate acts, who will be headlining Concerts
at the 2019 Celtic Connections festival.
The leading UK New Country Band, My Darling Clementine, will appear at the Park
Hotel, John Street, Montrose, on Friday 18th January at 8pm as a preview of their
headline Concert for Celtic Connections at Oran Mor in Glasgow on the following
evening.
Paisley born, Jill Jackson, who has been described as a Singer Songwriter in the style
of Joni Mitchell, and her trio, who are also headline acts at Celtic Connections this year,
will play a Concert at Montrose Folk Club, on this occasion in the Links Hotel, Mid Links,
Montrose, on Thursday 7th February also at 8pm.
The Concert by My Darling Clementine on Friday 18th January will take place in the
Park Hotel, John Street, Montrose, rather than the normal Montrose Folk Club venue of
the Links Hotel, Mid Links, Montrose, since the Function Room at the Links Hotel will
undergo refurbishment in January.
Tickets for both Concerts can be reserved, and further information can be obtained, by
