On account of the continuing Lockdown restrictions, the Concerts, scheduled for 4th and 28th August and 11th September 2020, have been cancelled. There is now an indicative date of 14th September, from which Live Music Events in Scotland might be permitted to resume. This will not be definitely confirmed until the Review announcement on 10th September. If the go-ahead is given then, the first Folk Club concert, which might be possible, would be the re-scheduled date of 24th September for the Blue Rose Code gig, cancelled in April.
The Links Hotel is not to re-open until March 2021; the Park Hotel are to accomodate us meanwhile. Since the Function Suite in the Park is larger than that in the Links, we would in the Park be able to comply with any physical distancing requirements, whether of 1 or 2 metres. However, we are conscious that some or many of you may be unwilling to attend Concerts, either any time soon or for the foreseeable future. It would not be economically viable for the Club to arrange a programme of gigs, if ,for understandable reasons, a proportion of the potential audience would not be able to attend.
It would be great if you could let us know your thoughts by emailing to kenneth@fivefurlongs.plus.com, and, in particular, whether if a concert were to be arranged for any of the following dates, you are likely to feel able to attend. The possible dates are as follows : A. 14th September 2020; B. 8th October 2020; C. 22nd October 2020; D. 5th November 2020; E. 19th November 2020; F. 21st January 2021; G. Not until a Vaccine is available. Thank you.
